Bugs in our custom SAP ABAP code can be quite expensive when they impact critical business processes, which is why quality assurance of custom SAP ABAP code is receiving more & more attention in business. SAP also develops a great deal of SAP ABAP code, & for us as well, highest quality is our primary goal. To reach this goal, SAP invested in the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), which has become SAP’s main internal quality assurance tool for SAP ABAP.

So we asked ourselves that why customers shouldn’t benefit from the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit as well.  We started a pilot project with two customers to find out if the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit can help customers assure the quality of custom code. If the results were so positive that SAP decided to adapt & extend the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit for the custom code. So we collaborated intensively with the pilot customers during the development cycle of the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit. As a result now we have a brand new SAP ABAP check tool developed with the input of customers for the customers.

ATC is already available with EhP2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 support package stack 12 (SAP Basis 7.02, SAP Kernel 7.20) & EhP3 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 support package stack 5 (SAP Basis 7.31, SAP Kernel 7.20).

SAP ABAP Test Cockpit – What is it, what are the benefits?

SAP ABAP Test Cockpit is a new SAP ABAP check toolset which allows us to run static checks & SAP ABAP Unit tests for our SAP ABAP programs. So in order to ensure a smooth migration & comparable check results throughout our company, the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit is compatible with SAP’s Code Inspector. This means we can reuse our custom Code Inspector checks & variants in the SAP ABAP Test Cockpit.

CONCEPTS OF INNER JOIN AND OUTER JOIN: I want to get the data  from multiple tables than we have to go for joins. There are 2 types of joins available in  SAP.  They are… 1. Inner join. 2. Left outer join. It is very important to remember that whenever we want to join the tables it is  mandatory that there should be at least one common field between them. Without a  common field between the tables we can not join the tables. For taking the common field you  should not consider MANDT field. So common field may be primary key field / other  field.
